6th Annual Freedom Ruck
Sixth Annual 105-Mile Freedom Ruck Benefitting The Navy SEAL Foundation Kicks Off January 4th
Richmond, VA – – Victor Wise, son of a retired First Sergeant and Operation Enduring Freedom veteran, will embark on his sixth “Freedom Ruck,” a physical challenge he hopes will inspire patriotism and support for our servicemen and women, on Friday, January 4, 2019, at 7:30AM EST.
“The goal of Freedom Ruck is to say thank you,” said Wise. “We try to lead by example and inspire folks to stand behind these heroes and their families. Our hope is to rally the public to take action. Our servicemen and women deserve to know how much we appreciate what they do.”
Wise, Russell Wilson’s Manager and COO of West2East Empire, will begin his Freedom Ruck at the Virginia War Memorial in downtown Richmond, VA, and continue north along Route 1, finishing at Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday, January 6.
Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, supports Wise's mission. "I have a deep appreciation for our nation’s military and what they do for us,” said Wilson. “I’ve been lucky to meet a number of service members through the years and I think it’s important we show our appreciation for their sacrifices. I’m proud of Vic for taking the initiative with Freedom Ruck. He’s always been patriotic — it’s great to see him get out there and inspire people.”
Fellow friends, family and supporters from Team Red White and Blue (Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Washington D.C.) will be joining Wise for the 105-mile ruck. Proud Americans with a tremendous amount of respect for those who serve their country, Wise and his rucking team hope Freedom Ruck will serve as inspiration to the general public to express their gratitude to the military community and their families.
Freedom Ruck monetary donations are 100% tax deductible and benefit The Navy SEAL Foundation. Over the past five years, Freedom Ruck has raised over $40,000 for the Foundation.
